So you want some urban life and be in the Tampa area? Downtown Tampa along with the Channel District are you best bet in Hillsborough County. Another option would be downtown St Petersburg, but that is another page, click here to see it.
The Downtown and Channel District, aka Channelside, have changed dramatically over the last several years beginning with the completion of Towers of Channelside in 2007. Since then, several new high rise buildings have been built with more in the process.
Channelside gets its name from the entertainment complex Channelside Bay Plaza that sits within the neighborhood that includes shopping, restaurants, and bars. Other things to do would include, watching the Lightening play at Amalie Arena or one of the many concerts and other events held there. Channelside is located right next to The Florida Aquarium, American Victory Museum or catch a cruise at Port Tampa Bay. Check out the new additions at Sparkman Wharf or Harpoon Harry’s Crab House!
Take a street car over to the Tampa Riverwalk, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, The Children’s Museum, dozens of restaurants at The Armature Works or go to play at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts and everything downtown has to offer.
Most of the residences are condos, however a few single family homes are scattered around the northern part of the area. There are several buildings going up with new homes coming on line daily. A list of those ready to move into can be seen, click here.
